Wilson had his 4 month check-up on Wednesday. Our doctor's official opinion is that Wilson is a bit of a "string bean." He is 25-3/4 inches long and 13 lbs. 5 oz. This puts him in the 20th percentile for weight and 75th for height.
This is very similar to how Claudia has grown. They both are really taking after me.
Ha-ha! Boy! I can barely type that without laughing!
During our doctor's visit I came to the realization that these routine check-ups make me nervous. I feel like they are a parenting test. I prepare my answers and some thoughtful questions ahead of time. I try to give additional information that may win me some extra credit. For instance, when our doctor asked if Wilson is moving and squirming around a lot, I added, "oh yes, he is rolling from his tummy to back. He has been doing that for about a month already!"
I even did the dreaded mommy quick spit face clean up. You know, when you think that you only have a second to clean up an ishy on baby's face so you lick your finger and wipe it off. Oh, god! I hated it when my mom did that!
So, I did not get a visit from Children's Protective Services after the visit, so I must have received a passing grade. I think that the extra credit helped.

Ok Rachel, cool your jets and your heart!!!! You are a very good mother and no one judges you, especially the dr. as he is human too and if has children, will make mistakes too. Remember kids are the only gift we get that doesn't have an "how to do it" manual. We all are in the same boat, we (all moms) don't have any idea what the hell to do about this crying, pooping, wiggling person that has dropped into our lives. So you wing it just like we all did, and then you wind up with two kids like ours that we're so proud of and are such great adult men with families. Wise advise from a lady that has been there, done that. Enjoy Sandy being there. Sandy be sure to spoil those kids alot, that's what Grandma's are to do. Love, Aunt Jock
